According to The Next Web (TNW), Dell is charging £16.25 ($27.18) for installing Firefox web browser from customers when they buy a new laptop.
The first who reported this issue was The Register A UK Sci/Tech News Website
This practice only happens in Dell’s UK website.
TNW contacted mozilla The company behind Firefox and the company’s response was:
By not charging, we mean the Mozilla product must be without cost.
And at the same time TNW contacted Dell and they got and explanation on why they are doing this, what they are charging for actually:
this practice is okay because the company is charging for the service and not the product.
Don’t they have enough money?
Or are they just trying to do one more thing to make people hate them even more?
We will never find out, but i feel like this is a wrong move, like really, really, wrong, and Dell should stop doing this, bcuz their customers are not stupid.
