So I did, and I’m glad I did because I noticed that their footer said this:

CNN Sans ™ & © 2016 Cable News Network.
Apparently, on April 21st, CNN rolled out their proprietary, “brand new” typeface called CNN Sans.
The font will be used on All Things CNN, which means on-air, news ticker, ads and also affiliate channels according to CNN Commentary. Oh, and the typeface is used on CNN.com, duh!
The video shows the 30 different weight the new typeface have and tells the employees that it’s already been downloaded on all of their computers.
In the video, Quest says that CNN Sans might look a lot like Helvetica but it’s not. Let’s take a closer look, shall we:
CNN didn’t try to create a unique typeface that borrows from their iconic logo or bring something new to the table, instead, they opted to make a font similar to what they used to have.
We didn’t want something that was cool today and out of date next year.
— Robert Poulton, Head of Design for CNN Marketing & Promotion.
The only thing left that is worth mentioning is that CNN Sans replaced Gotham typeface.
